I too had no problems with my 800GS but that was fitted with Metal Mule Crash bars and Bark Buster hand guards, I wouldn't have liked to drop it "without protection" (Ohh err missus).dancanovas wrote:I crashed my 800gs a few times on the rough stuff and never had a single expense. With decent protection I think they're pretty tough
Economy was excellent but the geometry of my 990 feels soooo much better than the GS off road:
For Comparison:
GS = 85 bhp + 191 kg (dry)
Adv = 115bhp + 209.5 kg (dry)

Is the bike still for sale ?
Suzuki GSX-S1000F...the KTM 450 EXC-R has gone

WTF? Somebody's trying to sell a bike and someone else comes in and slags the model.
Haven't got anything good or constructive to say keep your fingers off the f***ing keyboard. Doesn't matter if it's a KTM, a Desmosedici, or a chinese 125, if you were trying so sell something, and somebody else started saying it was s**t and putting doubt in potential buyers minds, you'd be well p**sed off.
Well out of order IMO.
Then it diversifies into a conversation about what else you could have instead.
Mods should clean up this thread and delete everything except the OP and questions/answers about the bike, again just IMO.
Good luck selling the bike Harty, if I were in the market for an adventure bike at the minute, I'd be interested for sure.

Difficult time of year to sell a bike.
But, it can only go up in value once people see the replacement that KTM will inflict upon us in 2013.
Try to buy a 950 Super Enduro (if you can find one)...they fetch more money now than a newer 990 Supermoto although they didn't sell very well when new.
