Nirvana for light weight gear freaks

Post by Alun »

Checked out the 'world's lightest' sleeping bag, gilet and duvet jacket from a company called Yeti yesterday. Whilst I can't confirm if the companies claims of world's lightest are true, I know of no other products that weigh less.

This new range from Yeti includes the Solace Down Gilet (spot on mid layer for winter riding) which weighs in at a paperweight 170g though with a price tag of £180 it'll weight plenty heavy on the mind. The Purity Down jacket (great for wearing at nippy campsites or hiking to Tesco) flutters onto the scales at 230g and breaks the bank at £240. Meanwhile, the Passion One summer sleeping bag checks out at an amazing 320g and freaks me out at £280.

You've gotta be a serious light weight gear freak to open the cheque book for these. Nice stuff though.
