I like the idea of lining your backpack with the foam mat, but no tent?

For a while I took pleasure in weighing all my kit to see where I could reduce the weight but I've given up now and just make sure that everytime I upgrade something I make it lighter.

At the end of the day its a bit irrelevant when you stick four cans of beer on top of your kit...
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

I'm terrified to think how much mine weights as I carry the kit for 2 people as other rider struggles to keep control of bike with kit on theirs.

I'd say at least 15kgs at best.

When walking the Camino 10% of your weight is recommended but with a bike, who cares within reason?

On my 250 Rally my 'camp in comfort' kit isn't so much heavy as bulky, especially on the return journey Its a stuggle to get it all far enough back to give me space on the seat.

If I'm trail riding with camp gear the weight is a real consideration, and where the weight is on the bike.

10% of your body weight is a good rule of thumb I've not heard before. Great excuse to eat more ;)

We are currently walking the Hadrians Wall trail. With full camping gear my pack is about 11kg and Sarah’s around 8.

All well and good......but the majority of the campsites or closed!!! Or have not opened their facilities!!!

Bugger! Still, only another 27 miles to go.

Good effort! Are you approaching the west end or the east end?

Some great scenery up there.

We are heading East. The scenery is pretty amazing and having to work for it makes you appreciate it even more.

I have cursed the bloody Romans a few times though!!!

What did they ever do for you, eh?

Built a bloody great wall to walk along I suppose...

Good luck with the last few miles.
