I have the Bumot Extremadas soft luggage on my CCM GP450. I like them. They lock to the pannier frames and the inner bag keeps the contents dry and can easily be lifted out.
Like all soft bags they are lighter than hard cases and probably safer in an off.

I’d never ridden one before so it was a leap of faith but it’s certainly living up to all the positive reviews. Super smooth, svelte, balanced, planted and flickable.

Oh and I also fell lucky on a set of Reckless 80 panniers so I will let you know how they work out.
It would be good to see some photos of the bike with the luggage.
Enjoy the bike.
First dry run out with the Reckless 80’s loaded with camping gear and I’m pleased to say the bike has retained its wonderfully neutral balance.

The build quality of the Mosko Moto gear really is top notch hence why it’s so expensive. Thankfully this set was second hand (but unused) saving me nearly £200).

The panniers feel rock solid on the bike and the included exhaust shield works a treat.

I was going to ditch the rear rack/pannier rail fitted by the bike’s previous owner and buy an Outback Motortek rear rack combo but then realized that the side bag pouches actually pass through the gap under the side grab handles. (before the inner waterproof bags are slid into the side pouches).

This increases security against pannier theft and keeps the luggage tight to the profile of the seat/side panels, leaving the grab rails exposed for lugging/lifting the bike if dropped.

I thought the 80L volume might be a bit excessive compared to the 40L version but It’s surprising how quickly the space is filled with just your tent/sleep mat/sleeping bag/cooking gear and then the sewn in straps allow any surplus volume to be compressed.

Even so, I still need to get a smaller/lighter tent than my old Vango.
If I’d bought a set of Reckless 40’s, I recon I would have had to change all my kit for a more compact sleeping bag, sleep mat, cooking system and ditch luxuries like the chair.

I now just need to drop lucky on a Giant Loop tank bag to complete the luggage system.

Thanks for taking the time to take the pics.
It all looks good I reckon.....especially as you’ve chosen the best colour bike.... 8-)

What make of rack does the bike have?
Is it the Bumot?

I can’t see any side rails in the photos, not that they’re needed with the Reckless anyway.
It does all seem to sit nicely.

Where am I at with it all? I’m thinking Bumot with the soft Extramada bags or the MoskoMoto Reckless..... 80 or 40?.....another quandary.

Thanks! You’ve just helped me identify who’s grab rail/rear rack is fitted. I’ve just checked Bumot’s website and its one of theirs. Good to know they do an extender plate if required.

The only thing I would consider with the Bumot is the outer grab rails are far too wide to just chuck the panniers over the top.
Thats why I’ve slotted them down the gap so the grab rails are exposed but it was a bloody tight fit (the gap is about 1” too short front to back) so it’s not something you would want to do if your taking the bags on and off on a trip. The Mosko’s have removable inner bags so whole top harness/pannier sides can stay on the bike.

To give you an idea the outer grab rail width of the Burmot is 440mm (see photo) where as I’m told by Dom at Kriega that the Outback Motortek ones are only 340mm wide so the bags should fit ok over the top for easier removal.
You could also consider the Adventure Spec one but I don’t like the fact that the rear plate/rails sit higher above the level of the seat.

As you suggest, there is no need to fit a rear pannier rack for the ‘Reckless’ System.

The new ‘Revolver’ version looks good. The side bags can be rotated to a steeper rake so the exhaust side can be positioned higher thus avoiding contact with the end can.

I’ve just ordered a FuelFriend 2L Max container. Apparently they fit perfectly in the 2 x 2L rear pockets so the additional weight is nice and low down.
I’m a bit nervous about the Tènèrè range after years of riding an Africa Twin with a 23L tank

I think there is more than one company working on a larger tank at the moment. Ifit's any consolation my bike is averaging 63mpg at the moment, I never got anymore than 50-55 out of any of the Africa Twins i've had.

More fuel range is always nice but in my experience extra capacity has not been required very often. Apart from when I had the sidecar on my F800GS. With a head wind the consumption was terrible.

We carried a RotoPax 6.6 litre van on our Australia/NZ/North America trip and only filled it a few times, more as a comfort blanket thank a necessity.

Like you two though, I’ll be interested to see what comes along.
