try navy goretex--much heavier duty than the army stuff--and I use the German army stuff anyway as that is heavier than the modern British army stuff--the trousers are particularly good with big zips so will fit over boots easily--and salopettes with built in braces so you can go XXL for plenty of wriggle room. I've yet to test my blue RN stuff in anger but it looks and feels the business--as usual available on fleabay.

I use the Oxford Rain Seal, good kit for the money. It was also Ride magazine recommended product.

I bought mine on their recommendation, and so far so good with no complaints.

Thanks 8-) . I also like Oxford stuff. I've got their Aqua 50 and Aqua 20 roll top bags and they are both a good bit of kit 8-) .

Another vote for the Oxford Rain Seal. I've got the two piece which tends to live in my panniers for when I get caught out. To be honest, I've never been over impressed with the water proofness of my Dainese jacket but have found with the Rain Seal stuff over the top I stay really dry even in the heaviest rain. Won't break the bank either.

Keep your waterproof trousers in a good carrier bag and when you come to put them on, put the bag over your boot. It makes it much easier to put your over trousers on and you'll be less likely to damage them.

I can recommend this with the trousers to match.
