How do you...

Post by waggy »

...carry your photo gear on your bike?

I have a DSLR and a couple of lenses that I would like to take with me on a trip and was interested in how you chaps manage this?

Cheers

Easy. Just use your usual padded camera zoomster/holdall whatever inside your topbox/panniers if you're that type or in a rucksack/ tankbag if you're not. I've used both over the years with zero problems. Recently on my longer off-road trips I've used a small wolfman enduro tankbag on my DRZ and put my camera in a small zoomster inside that with any extra lenses in a neoprene lens bag, keeps it all to hand, unclip it and take it with you when parking bike.

I use my tank bag, which is just the right size for my DSLR, with a wide angle (10-20) a different lens (70 - 200 ), pocket tripod and some other esentials. Tank bag has water proof cover when neede and carrying strap for when off the bike

Just remember that if your DSLR (or lenses) have anti vibration system (EG Nikon VR lenses).... make sure it is switched OFF before traveling.
