I have done a search but long and High have not produced any suitable results Lol
I am 6'5" and need a tent that offers me a bit more comfort and after a trip last September in the rain, it has to be more than just long enough as I woke up with a soaking sleeping bag where my feet had been touching the end of the tent all night.
I have a back and knee problem so I tried an air mattress and allthough bulky it was comfortable, but thinking might try a cot type bed setup as well?
Back to the tents Vango seem a quality option, not looking to garage the bike, just want something bigger than average thet when the Mrs and I occasionally go away is still Ok.
Cheers.
Big man tent
Re: Big man tent
I'm the same back and knee problems, just bought one of these http://www.uttings.co.uk/p124943-vango- ... rbf0i7FLIU
Seems to be ideal so far plenty room for 2 in sleeping compartment, and room to sit down ,stand up, cook, and stow gear in the porch. Pack size is not to bad, there is a 3 man version but i think it would be way big if you were using it on your own. I'm using a Exped synmat 9LW sleeping mat and find it very comfortable with my bad back, infact I dont wake until about 10am some mornings

Re: Big man tent
After looking at loads of tents and reading many discussions, what I am finding is they all seem to be a similar length inside and just get wider as they get bigger, I know it's all a compromise with camping but hoping to make the right choice this time Lolmabawza wrote: ↑Sat Mar 24, 2018 11:54 pm I'm the same back and knee problems, just bought one of these http://www.uttings.co.uk/p124943-vango- ... rbf0i7FLIU

I do like the very tall porch on that one though.

Maybe that Alpkit tent gives a bit more length.
The layout Dwg is not very clear bit there is a suggestion of 100mm more than the norm.

Or this MSR Elixir 4; I know its allegedly a 4 person tent but weight and pack size are not outrageous.
The diagonal corners probably have different post codes !

Re: Big man tent
or a van go nemesis 300 ? Nearly full height at head and foot so no tapered / dropping roof problem for feet ?

Is it just me, or does anyone else wonder why advertisers put one dimension in one format, and another in a different format?Flyfifer wrote: ↑Sun Mar 25, 2018 4:08 pm https://www.freezeproshop.com/msr-elixi ... Msr%20tent

The inside dimension is quoted in square feet, but the vestibule is given in square metres... Or, was it a typo?

Re: Big man tent
Look at the Vango Galaxy 300.
Extra length over 200 and room to stand up in porch.
Reasonably compact packed on bike.
My knees are shot, so need a bit more space and this tent does just grand for me.

Re: Big man tent
That's what I bought in the end, too big for me on my own I expect but ample when the Mrs and I are on a trip, it arrived last week but I have not had a chance to put it up yet!RH_SCOTLAND wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 10:58 am Look at the Vango Galaxy 300.
