A pair of these could be easily adapted. Cheap light and compact.

Screwed up with the number--here is the correct one--they are in pairs in 3 short sections per pair giving 56 inches height--at under 8 quid a pair I've ordered two pairs so that I can add an extra section for more height if required-or have it sloping--20,0 mm diameter aluminium 282548490131catcitrus wrote:Got me searching --but try these 677385325014 --ex army--pack short--I'm going for TWO pairs so that I can get the tarp high if I wish by adding another length--and have spare lengths. The top spike may be a bit big for the average eye diameter but I reckon I can fix that--especially at that price for army grade aluminium!

I use one of these monopods -

With the walking stick end -

With the added advantage that you can use it as a monopod whilst out & about. It extends to 170cm & is pretty strong - you could use it as one of your tarp poles, or buy 2...

Several years ago I posted on UKGSer about nesting tarp poles from a Dutch camping shop https://www.esvocampingshop.com/en/tent ... ent-parts/
They where somewhat expensive due to the shipping costs, but still might be worth a look
