We don't like camping, putting up and taking down the tent is just not my thing.
So.........I've used the small Quechua pop up tents in Morocco whilst on rally's and they're not that good.
Flimsy and small.
I've just found the Eurohike pop 400 on the Millets website for £80.
The pack size should be fine on the back of the sidecar.
3000 HH waterproofing....?
The idea is for three nights a week, ish, on our Americas trip next year.
Any feedback appreciated. Ta.
What's this tent like? Anyone know?

Is it really worth cutting corners and risking spoiling your holiday? I'd buy something better and sell it when I got home if I thought I wouldn't use it again.

We've already got a tent stored (rotting away) in the garage.
I really want to like camping...........
I'm OK putting away the pop ups, I lived in one for 10 days on the Heroes Legend rally a few years ago, and had the 'job' of helping half of our riders pack up too.
But yes, a better tent would be better. We could try this and if it doesn't work out, buy something else??

Have a look for campsites that have pre erected tents, or huts. A lot of campsites now have theses both at home and abroad.
Turn up, un load, have holiday, pack up, and go home without the tent hanging out of its bag and with the added bonus of not arguing with er indoors every time you stop for fuel.
Cheers Dave.

I've just had a look at the Slummit website. Interesting. The 2 and 3 man look very small.
But the 4 man.......? Still only 3000 HH
We need to go and see these I think.

We've used huts and cabins before, mainly in Scandinavia. We liked those.
Planning on USA inc Alaska, Canada and....... in 2016 and will be away for a fair while.
Just trying to cover the bases. And with the sidecar, storage is not such an issue.

I've got to be honest and say I wouldn't take camping kit over there when you can usually find cheap enough accommodation wherever you are. Worst case would be a tarp and a couple of sleeping bags because if it rains you'll be in a hotel.OnHellas wrote:Spoiling the trip? OK, hotels it is then.....
