Beads or gel

Post by gebrauchtwagen83 »

Ominous thread title but just wondered if anyone had any experience of using beaded seat covers. Basically off to the ukraine border in a few weeks and need to do something about the numb bumb itus. Air hawk isn't an option because I can only just touch the floor as it is on the 660 ten. I've seen some gel covers that I think will do the trick but a bit pricey at 40 odd sniffs

Use the gel first, should help slide the beads in

Not heard of bead seat coverings, is it like a taxi seat?
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Never tried a beaded cover, seen them and I've got to say IMHO they look pretty naff? I wore my cycling shorts under my draggin jeans for my recent 500 miles through France on the not too comfy Tiger. Definitely helped.

A gel pad i picked up from a equestrian shop, about £20. Did the trick, just held on with bungees

I used a bead pad on my Tenere (to help raise ride height/peg ratio rather than for bum comfort). I've since used a sheep skin which also raises it a bit and feels more comfy to me. That gel pad from an equestrian shop seems worth trying at that price.
