I have one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Coleman-Phad- ... 3a8af36451 on ebay it is £150 but shop around I got mine in the summer for £99. Very very quick to put up and it is free standing so if the area your camping in wont take a peg just peg where you can. With it being a rectangle forprint you can rotate to get in awkward places when wild camping. Packs up small about 500mm by 150mm.
The new version is this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Coleman-Tatra ... 418a6cd5bd

I have a selection of tents ( like most tentaholics). But, the one I tend to use the most for shorter trips is a Vango Mirage 200. You can pick them up for around £90 if you shop around.

It goes up really quick, and pitches as one and is a semi-geodesic self supporting design. It is about as small as I would want to go. It packs down really small and fit nicely in my Gobi panniers. I would of preferred to have bought the 300 model to give me a little more storage room to bike gear. I have a few Vango tents. A Vango Halo is another good choice. It has more head room being a dome tent.

Vango Halo 200 was my choice as a dome it's more stable than a tunnel, opens two sides, space for me and bike kit and the outside pitches first. You can even break down and pitch both inner and outer together. As a dome if you need to pitch under a barn roof on a tiled floor as its pissing down its not a problem. And it's got reasonable ventilation.

Don't you just hate it when there's sooo much choice?
I'm also looking for a new tent, my first for biking and there is just too much to take in!
I've checked out all the ones above and I'm still no nearer to picking one.
Has anyone seen one of these in the flesh? Relatively small pack size and 2.7kg

I'm chuffed with my Marmot Limelight 2p

Quick to pitch (poles clip rather than run through sleeves)

Can pitch just the inner (freestanding) when it's hot.

Very airy. (the sides of the flysheet are quite high off the ground)

Small pack size

I personally have a Vango Omega 350 (3 man version) they do a 250 (2 man) I find the 3 man gives us (me & GF) plenty of room for the Helios chairs & panniers.

or what about one of the bike garage tent's?
