Help Italian Ebay TDM900 Panniers Translation anyone ... ?

Post by Mul001 »

Q1. Does anyone know if these Panniers, via translation, from Italy for my Yamaha TDM900 come complete with the rack. The piccys suggest they do - if so I reackon they're a bargain.

Q2. Has anyone anything similar and are they any good. They do look "thin" but would suit me and if they're bum at least I could use the monokey mounting again for something more substantial in the future.

It states the two frames are included but no mention of rack??

You need a kit to relocate the indicators.

Crikey, that was quick Tim, thanks. Do I need 2x racks too ?

I've a monokey topbox with a simple mounting plate (rack?). The indicator info is v. useful, I've heard about having to move indicators, but never put 2 and 2 together while I'm e-bay watching and pondering.

I also may have to consider adapting / moving my topbox plate too to accommodate these as they're top opening, which is the style I want, as opposed to side opening. I'd rather rummage through the top than risk opening the side and have stuff fall out.

In 20 or so years I've never considered Panniers before but I've been thinking about them for a while now and as I get older I want to carry more, not less. The days of going away for a weekend with not much more than a toothbrush are over - comfort is the future.

Plus, despite getting what you pay for, I'm not sure I want £300 plus metal ones, despite the step change in build / quality - mebbe one day if these work out.
