Helinox chairs

Post by dave j »

Prior to our recent trip round the Baltic, we treated ourselves to 2 x Helinox chairs.

They're not cheap (£80 a pop!), however having used them for the last three weeks, I can honestly say it was money well spent. Very comfy after a days ride, very light and tiny pack size. Very impressed.

8/10 (would be 10, but only because of the price).
KTM 1290 Super Adventure T - Power!
KTM 690 Enduro R - lighter to pick up
Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 - Fun.

Even our dogs are orange.

Only bikers understand why dogs put their heads out of car windows.

We have them too after seeing Tetley with one in Scotland. Unbelievable pack size, strong and comfy. Brilliant bit of kit.

I bought one for my recent trip to Morocco, they are expensive, but to be able to be comfortable in the campsite of a night time is worth the money in my view.

What amazed me is the comfort of the seat, you can happily sit in it for hours at a time. I had to justify the expenditure to my wife and got her sitting in the Helinox for 5 minutes and then the same on the tripod stool I had. She agreed that the expenditure was worth the comfort, to the point she wants one now...

Yep, after a day in the saddle our cheapo folding stools are not well received.... Might have to splash the cash. On thing I was thinking though, would you pack it up each time you leave th campsite unattended? Thieving scum might know what they're worth..... It's bad enough having to lock helmets, carry valuables etc

It's small enough to chuck in most tents assembled. Or 1 minute to fold up.

Thanks for info - I was wondering whether the investment in a Helinox could be justified - this is the one you are referring to isn't it?

Hi Austin

Would I be able to pop around/meet up with you and have a look at your Helinox? I am curious how bulky it is when folded

Cheers
