Don't know if these are available in the UK, but I know someone who is currently on a trip around South America on his KLR and he's got an Aerostitch textile suit. He recently came off at 80MPH just outside Mexico City, and here's the damage to the suit (not much)

Depends on what you want to pay really?
I normally use good boots, BKS leather trousers ( my firms supplied kit) and as I have a BM I bought a BMW ( second hand) Twat jacket to go with the GSA ( yep POSEUR ).
A good quality pair of over trousers for the rain and job done.
OR
For city riding where visibility is FAR more IMPORTANT same bottom half and one of these for the top
Brilliant for the cost ( less than £100) and as used by Met Police
FOR very hot weather Draggin Jeans ( but these have NO armour not recommended for all weather use)

Good luck

+1 for Halversonns
HG gear has crap fasteners and is useless for all year round riding as they wear out a break very quickly. I have loads of top end HG kit which is excellent for waterproofing and warmth but all poppers , zips and even velcro have worn out within 18 months continuous wear and made the garments unwearable.... and they try and question the warranty when they find out just how often you have used the goods.
