Bellend

In a very rare brief moment the other day I was thinking what a magnificent person I am, so I decided there and then to treat myself to a new enduro helmet.

Since I ride like a nob, I thought a Bell helmet would be appropriate.

It arrived today. A shiny new MX-9. Fits perfectly. More comfortable than my old scorpion. Lot of vents, and the MIPS system - which is vital apparently (whatever it does...).

I thought I should take a photo of it now, before my first ride. Because it could well end up wrapped around a tree, and it'll never look this nice ever again...

Got a Bell myself
Very comfortable and really quite quiet considering the type of helmet it is.
Had to get Oakley L frame goggles to fit over my glasses.
Otherwise all good

Much prefer your colour scheme

Looks nice, enjoy! I’ve had an MX-9 for a couple of years too - i really like it.

I was able to customise the fit with larger cheek pads, it is all day comfortable, it’s no noisier than other helmets i use (tend go use Arai and Shoei) and it is good value for money. Makes sense for a helmet that is probably going to live a relatively hard life.

I just tried it with my glasses and my usual goggles. It leaves a small gap on both sides between the edge of the goggles and the helmet opening.

That might be very useful for ventilation, especially on wet humid days when my glasses always seem to steam up.

As to the colour, I like the Monster graphics design but wasn't available in my size for the bargain £80 that I paid. This black/copper will do fine, especially as it'll soon be scratched by birch twigs and dinged by rocks anyway. It's the peak I always seem to lose first. I have this magnetic affinity for headbutting tree trunks. :D

I'll report back on what I think of it after our next day out on the 23rd.

Don't know what visor fittings it uses but my moto 8 the screws seized and the inserts rotated in the shell and ruined it. Take them out and lube them, just don't tell anyone you lubricate your bell***

Always important to keep your helmet well oiled.

This is the one without a visor, Bill. It's the Adventure model that has a drop down visor. I don't think a visor would survive more than a couple of hours in the forest behind me.

I think another £30 quid or so gets you the ADV helmet.

Sorry I meant the peak not the visor, mine had a fight with a tree branch and lost

What did you use to lubricate your bell, Bill ?

Three in One oil? Silicon spray? KY Jelly?

That peak looks 2ft long 😉 😲
It must get dark extra early when you wear it. 😀
