Waterproof jacket liner

Post by Neil M »

Annoyingly I've lost the waterproof liner for my RST Adventure Jacket. Apparently you can't buy them separately. :(

The jacket's only just over a year old & no signs of wear & tear yet so don't want to buy a new one. Has anyone got any ideas of a suitable replacement (for the liner)? I was thinking of some sort of lightweight jacket to wear under the RST instead.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks.

I tend to bung a gortex army surplus jacket over the top rather than use the liners. Added bonus of a lightweight waterproof jacket for the campsite etc and no soaking heavy jacket to dry.

As Herman says
It also saves wearing the liner all the time sweating your tits off.

+1 on that idea, when I had the RST I used the Held Rainblock Jacket and pants. Very waterproof and lightweight. I have the camo goretex but mainly use that from trail riding, perfect and cheep.

Thanks for the replies. Over, rather than under seems to be the way to go.

If you don't like the cammo look then buy the raf/navy version in blue .
Very good value compared to other gortex products.

The army camo stuff is okay for trailriding on road speed the hydroscopic effect takes over.. Ie the rain is pushed through gortex one reason its used under a outer layer also helps keep the pores clean so can breath....

Jjst some more thoughts lol.... But over is better than under... Frankthomas rain stuff is ace and cheap..

I bought this Richa 2 piece, lined suit recently. Used it in the rain last week over my textile jckt, and leather trousers. Did the job and not too bulky to store,or wear. Not expensive either, about £60?
