Schuberth E1 helmet intercom

Post by bulamatari »

In Mar 16 I bought the then new Schuberth E1 flip-up helmet from Infinity M/C in North Camp, Farnborough and is by far the best helmet I have ever had because it is a superb fit for my slim head and therefore very quiet. However, since I have used Scala intercoms for the past 10 years for training purposes as a National Observer, I opted to get the Scala based intercom system fitted for a supplement of £240, making a grand total of £780. Serious cash. But over several months I tried repeatedly to pair it to other Scala G4/G9 helmets from a variety of owners without success. After contacting Infinity, their specialist could only suggest downloading the latest software, which I did, but as you might expect from a recently purchased item, to no avail. So they will sell you the kit but are not able to do any fault finding. Since then I have tried the pair it with many more other Scala and other owners, with the same result. So if you are thinking of the E1, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on the intercom option, it simply does not work and suppliers are not interested in solving the problem.
