I have had to succumb to distance glasses for riding (and driving).
Arai Tour X4 with visor but I flip it up for trail riding and down for road.
Looking for wrap around glasses to try and minimise wind blast as I have sensitive eyes following pterygium operations so looking at the equivalent to saftey glasses with RX inserts as being the better option as the glasses can easily be replaced if scratched.
A quick google has come up with Bolle Tracker with lens ready inserts included for £15, which seems good for Bolle kit.
Before I give them a go, any other suggestions as surely some bike riders don't have perfect vision.
Not sure what I'll have to pay for the single vision lenses yet though.

Re: Wrap around glasses with prescription inserts
I've tried VoltX, available from Amazon. Good, comfortable etc. But for me the tipping point from standard to prescription is too high when riding. I clearly use my lower segment peripheral vision more than I realized.
Just along for the ride.

Re: Wrap around glasses with prescription inserts
Not sure what you need but I have motorcross goggles with an insert :

which I use in a motorcross helmet. This is a top product, you absolutely forget you need to wear you normal glasses.
They also have this :

Not cheap but really top class, I could not ride offroad (sweating) without these.

I have had Bolle glasses before and really liked them, hence my inclination towards them.
Curretly using some Screwfix £9 jobbies.
I find normal goggles too restrictive and heavy when I have enough of a struggle riding, without building up an extra sweat. I always used glasses for skiing as well.
That said, I did buy The Ess Advancer a couple of months ago for dusty summer riding before I realised I couldn't see where I was going and needed distance glasses. I thought I had wasted my money but I'll check out the lenses - thanks for that. They do have nice small lenses so seem more like padded glasses.
You can also buy little stick on reading lenses to create bifocals if you need them but Even though I use reading glasses, I can see my speedo etc ok without.

Re: Wrap around glasses with prescription inserts
Interestingly, I have found that the inserts for the Ess Advancer also fits their Ice wrap around glasses and can be swapped over.

Worth a look as it saves two sets of inserts.

Re: Wrap around glasses with prescription inserts
Yes they are the inserts, I managed to get the goggles from an army surplus stall at my local market complete including inserts. I took them to Specsavers and had prescription lenses fitted in place of the dummies fitted. The outer lenses can be quickly changed from clear to tinted or yellow.Interestingly, I have found that the inserts for the Ess Advancer also fits their Ice wrap around glasses and can be swapped over.

They have a vent position for when hot and closed when dusty. Excellent quality and can be picked up very reasonable and often unused, worth a try.

How much did they charge for the lenses at Specsavers?bill_qaz wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2017 10:20 amYes they are the inserts, I managed to get the goggles from an army surplus stall at my local market complete including inserts. Thinking of there or Tescos. Tescos are handier for me though.
I haven't had cause to wear my Advancers yet. I'll order the lens kit and Ice glasses today and can get the lenses done asap.
Thanks for the info
