i am away on a 4 week tour in august, we do it every year 14 countries, 5-7 thousand miles. ive had and spent a ton of money on all year round gear over the years. my present kit is revvit posiedon, had it 2 years and it's hot in the sun and lets water in, in the rain. it's ;et water in from day one actually. so my question is do i stump up £2000 for the best KLIM gear ? is it really worth it?. i've bought so much bike clothing over the years, this will be my last one because if i spend £2000 i will expect it to last me at least 5-8 years doing big miles like i do touring.

Don't think you need to spend 2k personally. 1k on klim would get you all you need

I tried the rally jacket and preferred the badlands. But I got the latitude and it's everything I need

Had my badlands four years, still keeps me dry and protected and is cool enough in the heat with all the vents open, I reckon if its still going in another four years it will be good value (thumbs) (thumbs)

If you want klim have a look at the Blade jacket..
Gortex lightweight vented, no thermal lining so a good decent summer jacket.
Used mine through winter with a quilted down pack away coat, was pretty effective.
J&S accessories were selling them for £299 (thumbs)

Klim badlands is great kit. I've had mine for three years and it still preforms very well. I'd say if the worst came to the worst and you had a tumble, The badlands kit offers good protection.
The vents are extensive and work well at keeping you cool on the move.
But......it's incredibly heavy and bulky. It you like stopping, getting off the bike for a look around and a bit of general tourism and it's warm....boy you'll melt unless you can find somewhere to stow the inflexible heavy jacket.
Carrying instead of wearing it isn't a great option either it being so heavy and bulky.
If I'm heading off on a tour where I know I'll be getting off the bike on route for a mooch about, especially if I know it's going to be warm I don't always take the badlands, I'll use lighter, less waterproof kit with a light rain proof all-in-one rolled up and stowed on the bike.
