VOZZ strapless/rear-entry helmet
A very interesting new design from a company in Australia... This video answered a lot of my queries about how securely it is held on your head - although I'm not sure how well the chin cuff is going to allow you to speak (via bluetooth of course) or sing along to yourself as you ride - which I've been known to do! They also intend to offer a dual-sport/dirt version in the near future too. Jx

I do like the look of that
Will be giving that a try when it arrives here.

I don't like the idea of emergency services having to think to scan a QR code, watch a video, remove some screws etc etc to fetch it off in the event of a crash. Sure once they've followed the 6 step plan it leaves your head in the back of the helmet but it sounds like a massive faff. My Mrs is ambulance crew and a screwdriver isn't in the big red grab-n-go bag!

Yes I thought that, on my Shoei it`s just pull two red tabs to release cheek pads (thumbs)HarveyCamm wrote:I don't like the idea of emergency services having to think to scan a QR code, watch a video, remove some screws etc etc to fetch it off in the event of a crash. I think even if they didn't undo the screws, still the flip open design and larger aperture is going to make it a lot easier to remove the whole helmet with less danger of compounding a neck injury?

Can't see what shortcomings of a standard strap type helmet it alleviates, apart from maybe noise.
Might even increase the chance of a collar bone fracture.
Extra areas of maintenance, catches & hinges which may end up sloppy.
I'm happy with a strap as it holds a buff in place when worn over the mouth.
However I realy would like to try one.
The big problem with Motorcyle crash helmets is that they can only be tested against industrial safetywear unless things have recently changed.
Never did understand what the ACU sticker actually approved!

Re: VOZZ strapless/rear-entry helmet
I would have thought that the force of any impact would be transferred to the chin .. (instead of having a airy buffer zone between chin and helmet to allow movement in a crash).
this i think would also be the case with air buffetting. all taken on the chin?
I like an air gap by the chin as it helps de-misting of the visor and fresh air intake, especially `off road` if you use it there (I use a flip up helmet).
I can just imagine a paramedic needing to quickly perform mouth to mouth. no emergency removal? pull a tag and it opens?
I would suspect also that the narrower lower profile would help the head move MORE on impact, like a hinge.
i dont think i would even try a helmet that was held on by my JAW and being trapped inside .. incapacitated, after a bump, waiting for a gay mate boyfriend of mine (who carries a scanner) to do a rear entry while i got a broken jaw.
