Snap.
I always take the liners out of Jackets at least. A lot of the manufacturers I have bought from the liners are either quilted in appearance or silver? I use a good windbreaker/thermal jacket that doubles up off the bike, RAB make some good stuff.
The last post about being a Geordie made me smile, I spent some time a few years ago in Newcastle and use to go to 'the big market' for a beer. Rain shine wind or snow I dont think I ever saw a coat.

Re: Linings in or out
In winter liners in.
But in spring I take them out and use fleece. Beware cold evenings, very easy to think nice warm day, don't need them but late afternoon find its cold.
Went to France last May with liners in but took them out after the first day, too warm. But the K100 has a big fairing which was the cause of not needing them. I always have a fleece jacket which doubles for warm liner and for wearing off bike.
This year I intend to leave the liners at home. If its cool I will have enough layers and have 2 pairs of Kevlar jeans.
There is nothing worse than being too cold, other than being too cold and wet as well. I have a lightweight hiviz waterproof windbreaker that fits over the bike gear and its great for keeping cold air off.

If you need to ask, maybe you should stay at home.
France for the weekend could be an adventure too far.

Have done around 400 miles today, didn't start raining until around 2 oclock, and chucking it down now, not a lover of the road attacks in the wet.

Character building, that's what it is.
Live and well, that's the main thing (thumbs)
PS You can go as fast on modern tyres in the wet, as you think you can in the dry. Trust me.
This'll cheer you up...

Re: Linings in or out
I've never tried Conti's,I've thought about it because they're cheaper but then I just stick with what I know (for longevity more than grip),but if you're on the Vare...,Vari...,Honda ,I would think they would have to be pretty shit to be overwhelmed in the wet! And I think it would be all over forums how bad they are by now. I ride just as fast, just a bit gentler on the throttle, in the wet without any problems. (thumbs)

Currently in caen this evening, weather mixed today, have noticed the speedo on one bike must me wrong as over a 220 mile trip the BMW is reading 6 miles more than the hondaWapping wrote:Rude of me.
Meant to ask, where are you this evening?
Re: Linings in or out
No. It's just that the BMW is faster, travelling 226 miles in the time the Honda did 220 (thumbs)D16PJM wrote:Currently in caen this evening, weather mixed today, have noticed the speedo on one bike must me wrong as over a 220 mile trip the BMW is reading 6 miles more than the honda
