Tool tube/box. Recommend me one please.

Post by Ubique 895 »

Howdy,

So down at the freeze rally I saw loads of different tool tubes and boxes, mostly on the inside of pannier racks.

Now, what do you have and why? Where did you get it from and how much money is one likely to cost please?

I've got the suzuki/sw motortech/trax pannier racks, using trax/suzuki boxes.

I've had a quick scan and search and couldn't come up with what I was looking for.

Cheers,

Ben

I have 2 .

1 has a 8x6 camo tarp plus string etc .
other has . cable ties, socket set, 2 good screwdrivers, bulb set, various bits and bobs, some chain oil in a little bottle, also sometimes wedge a small tin of wd40.

You can get the type I have from lots of places , like ebay , adventure spec

Look on Ebay for someone called KitPed - Jason he sells them and cheaper than I could find elsewhere. Going to be used for spare tube / tyre levers / tool kit and possibly a mars bar :) Just keeps it all neat and tidy... kitped at aol dot com - its Jason.

Don t think so ..they have smaller ones...as they were ment for "tractor manuals" unless its a Sunday edition .

Some make them from down pipes and end caps from teh builders merchants..do whatever lenght you like then.

If its something your thinking of just sitting in your panniers I use a tupperware box with the click lids..also if the panniers aren't on just use the box in a kriega bag..find a square box more use than a round tube

I've still got my tooltube sitting on the bench. Cant decide where to fit it or if I need it

what do want to put in there, I've found loads of room inside the fairings (Varadero 1000) where I have spare levers, tyre repair kit, tyre levers and room for extra tools if needed.

Out of the way, out of scroates view and if I need the stuff an extra ten minutes taking the fairing off wont hurt.
