just bought a go pro , not had it on the bike yet but looks very good but then it should be at the price , im told top gear use them as well
Re: Helmet Cam...
I have a go pro and been using it a while ,very good quality and compact ,there is a MK2 version out now which is even better , do some reaserch into what you would use it for mainly as most of the HD ones are very similar quality footage but huge differences in price .
If you dont need a waterproof one they can be bought for around £25

Re: Helmet Cam...
These helemt cams and cams like the Flip HD ultra use 2Gb mem cards that hold about an hour of footage.
So...lets say you go on a 2 week trip how do make your own little vid with a camera that can only record an hours worth of footage? more mem cards......take a laptop to download too??portable hard drive?
I ask as in the future i would like to start making my own vids and have been wondering what type of camera would suit me.
cheers

Re: Helmet Cam...
My VIO 1.5 , uses 8GB sdcard and holds 8hrs of sd footage, 4 x AA Rechargeable , Last about 9hours. So usually get a weekend out of 2 / 3 sd cards . And a couple sets of batteries.
There are many ups and downs with all the cameras on the market at the moment.
So research is the key , and what you are doing with the videos, e,g
only uploading to youtube , making your own dvds . And of course the computer you have , is it a good spec / windows / mac . Some of the HD footage from these cams will cause an older computer to struggle somewhat.
What batteries the camera has:
AA type (so you can use rechargeable batteries)but costing these should considered .
Battery Pack ..
Can the batteries be charged in the field , or do you carry spares
How long does the batteries last.
Lots to consider .
