Thanks guys, some things to look at there.
Thankfully I get full UK and EU breakdown and recovery with my insurance so they should cover me if I have any problems but I'd prefer to be able to fix and get going rather than wait hours for recovery!

I liked the idea about breaking the bead with the side stand. I might give that a go when I get some tools and try changing tubes.

Some carry a 6inch gclamp for rear tyres...others have their wheels converted to tublis then no tubes like sportsbikes etc..

I don't fancy the idea of converting my wheels to tubeless.
I was considering some Rally Raid wheels but the 18" and 21" aren't tubeless compatible from what I can see.
