Which Compressor?

Post by FatFreddy »

Hi folks
I'm looking for a small (affordable?) lightweight portable 12V air compressor.
It doesn't have to be fast or powerful, just as long as it can re-inflate a flat tyre after a repair.
I'm obviously looking in the wrong places so can anyone recommend one?

Airman , had mine for years and for the money has a high output. Will pop tyre a back on its bead unlike some of the really cheap ones.

Whatever you get deflate your tyre at home then try it.. If it dosent work send it back..

Most important bit is dont let it bounce around in transit and only use with bike engine running...

Look on eBay at car ones. Most modern cars have no spare wheel, they have a puncture repair kit and compressor. I bought a Toyota one, it says on it that you should not run it continuously for more than 45 mins. It was cheaper than one that you can buy from Halfords or a garage and I have blown new tyres onto the rim with it.

Greetings,

For a new tubeless tyre the trick is volume not so much pressure. Sometimes tie a tourniquet around the central circumference.

Plenty of tyre soap and most importantly keep your fingers away from the rim

I have one of these, not too large and works fine, think I paid a tenner at a petrol station a couple of years back.

+1 on the airman. Took the plastic outer case off and it packs really small. Been used on many bikes for the last 3 years.
