Hi dudes
My first time ever joining a forum.
I own a 2013 1190 and believe me I am going mental trying to decide on the best panniers for my bike.
Really, do most people have £800 - £1000 to spend on luggage? Do you really have to carrier a three piece suite on your bike? Does the carry space justify the excess weight/price/width? Hard or soft? Symmetric or asymmetric?
Ideally I would purchase quality soft panniers but am I right in saying that I will also require carrier frames? Can any 1190 owners recommend a realistic solution?
I would much appreciate hearing your advice/experiences.
Hanx
KTM 1190 panniers
Re: KTM 1190 panniers
My last two 990s came with the 3 box set inc the frames I only use(d) them occasionally as they are quite wide
I am looking at a 690 that may come with the KTM branded Powerparts Touratech metal boxes
These appear to be £283 each plus the same for the frame
If I buy the bike, I would sell the panniers ... they may fit any other bike. I would be likely to keep the frame and use soft luggage
Anyone interested in some expensive metal boxes please let me know

Re: KTM 1190 panniers
My panniers were already fitted to the 1190 so never looked at other options. Generally I use the frames and add Kriega soft luggage bags to them. The hard cases that came with the bike adorn the garage walls....
