Mobile Touch screens not working with gloves.

Post by Bandare »

I just wondered if there is any add-on, material or paint on product that can be used to help make leather gloves work when you touch an iphone.

I have a pair of gerbing heated gloves, which are great, but when I use my iphone as a sat nav, it's not possible to get the screen to acknowledge the glove touching it.

Has anyone here got a fix for this apart from using specific gloves (that are not heated!) that will work??? Maybe a need to try and buy one glove and cut off the tip and stick in on to my gerbing's but I hope there's a better solution :)

Why don't you use a cut down stylus & stick it to your glove ?

Conductive thread. Just sew it into your glove finger tips. Not sure how the heated gloves work so you may need to pay attention to it, but it's half way down the page here. You can buy it from Amazon etc.

This is probably the best method but would be tricky to sew into the heated gloves because the heating wiring is small and runs throughout the glove

Google touch screen gloves.

Buy a massive pair for over your own gloves or cut off and stick the tips to your own.

or you can get nanotips solution, but it tends to wash off.

Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like nanotips isn't available many places and I definitely don't want to stitch into a heated element glove.

I'm surprised I can't find more people with the same issue and some more solutions so far :)

i was going to use a simple cheap stylus attached with a bit of elastic cord. maybe tucked under a bit of elastic something when not in use.

May have to go down this route but it seems a little clunky as a solution compared to sticking some material on to the glove.

I'll message Gerbing support and see if they have any ideas or solutions too.

Works if you lick the fingertip before using.
