Brand new tyres always give me the horn. Is that normal?

My pair of RAZORBACK FERALS just arrived. They smell bloody lovely and they're just sitting there all knobbly and new. Phwoooarr!

As Phil has already said, it doesn't really matter if they're any good or not - with a name like that they just have to go on the bike. I need to shag out the current AC10s first, so they will probably be a New Year's present for the Beta.

Only 59 Euros for the pair from 24MX !!

To whatever's cheapest, Steve.

For all the different makes of knobblies I've fitted to my off-road bikes, I can honestly say I've never noticed any difference between them. I seem to be able to fall off consistently, regardless of the tyre. So I just go for the bargains. As long as I can spin em up like a loon I really don't care.

The one time I've seen you fall off you were on concrete (and that was just the end bit), I never got to see the river crossing, just the result

Bit of feedback on the Razorback Ferrals.

Fitted a pair before the Pyrenees week. Grip (at 12psi) excellent on dry gravelly/rocky tracks. No rain so can't comment on wet riding. Wear very good considering the abuse they got over 700kms of mainly trails and some fast tarmac. The tarmac riding definitely sped up the wear. Value for money excellent considering they only cost 70 euros for the pair (posted)!

One quick observation. The carcasses are very tough. I accidentally nipped the inner tube while fitting the rear tyre. So the day after I fitted it, I noticed there was no air in the tube. But it looked just like a fully inflated tyre. The carcass is so strong that the tyre doesn't really deform when there's no air in it. Obviously it was the usual ball ache to repair the nip and re-do it, but interesting to note just how firm the sidewalls are. The rim edges of the unfitted tyre almost meet each other when it's new, like a tight mushroom. This makes fitting a bit of a pain, and I'd advise storing the tyres overnight in a warm room before fitting them, especially the rear, and using plenty of tyre soap.

Overall, big thumbs up for the Ferrals...

24MX are selling Razorback Mousses for €139 the pair !!

Note to Phil - you need the right size mousse for the right size tyre. Don't buy a scooter mousse for your Husky this time.
