This is what I use on my DR650 (Phil's idea first) , just bolt straight into the passenger footpeg holes

Yes they were, you could use a nylock on the other side on the CRF?

Yes I've gone for some of those bolt on straps as they a practically weight free. I didn't enjoy cutting the pin off

I was searching for the same thing a couple of weeks ago,just seen this thread and it reminded me to order some.i found a site called "rock n road 4X4" have a look on the cargo control hardware page and look at the item called "anchor plate-webbing" I just ordered two of those.
