Re: panniers, look good
Very good.
The best pannier system I've seen.
The only problem I can see is that for me, their excellent carrying capacity would encourage me to carry excess tat.
I like the way they fold in when not in use.....although I believe Panniers belong in your garage unless you really are going to use them.
Do they look a bit bland/urban for the hardcore-wannabe types?

you cant sit on them or cook on them
Too often I would hear men boast of the miles covered that day, rarely of what they had seen.- Louis L'Amour

Re: panniers, look good
I don't really like soft panniers, as I bungie them on tight, so they are awkward to get an item out
metal ones are too big and wide? .. but good seats .. yes.
i fancy some plastic proper ones, like the old krauser ones, but 4" wide?
i should look at the peli cases?

Re: panniers, look good
I bought a set of Lone Rider 38 and 45L bags along with their racks for the 1200GS.
3 days before X-mas, I had a left side get off on a rock ledge. The bag shook it off with no damage, and when I got home and washed the bike, there were very few and very slight scuff marks on the lower side of the bag. The right bag got a rub mark on it when I brushed up against a thorny palo verde tree. Well worth the price IMO.
I questioned LR reps on suggested max weight capacity and was told they were tested to 60 pounds in each, but they recommend 30 pounds per bag which is a lot of gear [ and both bags still won't be filled to the top of the roll top closed.
Here they are on the bike.
