HELP ! - Crash Bar Indentification

Afternoon all,

I have just removed the crash bars shown in the pictures below from my 660 Tenere as I am sure that they were not designed for the bike.

Since they have Metal Mule stickers on them I contacted them this morning to see if they could help me identify them. I've just had a reply from them to say that they don't recognise the bars as one of their current or past products :o They certainly look nothing like their 660z Bars on their website.

I wonder if any of you could assist, they are no use to me and they are just going to clutter up my garage !

More than happy to let them go at nominal cost + P&P to somebody who needs/wants them.

Thanks !

Hi,

I use to work for MM back in 2012 and whilst they don't look like the current XT660 bars I know that before I joined we have MK1 version of the bars that weren't as substantial as the MK2. Judging by the logo which is old style my well be one of them.

Unfortunately the guy that would know is Paul the founder of the company but unfortunately he no longer with MM.

Thanks,

Thanks VR !

I suspect that they are the Mk1 version, the bike is a 2009 version and they did line up fine with the MM bashplate.

They are now just cluttering up my garage at the moment !

Good luck selling them.

I had a further look on the MM website and they are def MK1 bars. You can see in there bash plate pics they have the MK1 fitted that mount in the same place yours do. When you compare it to the MK2 mounting on the website these are complete different.

I'm sure they would sell pretty quick on the XT660 website.
