Screen for a Suzuki DRZ400s

Post by frenchy3 »

Hi,i have just about finished farkling my DRZ400 and i have one last task which is to fit a medium sized screen for long distance riding.
I have a couple of options in mind so far.
1. Pre 2008 Kawasaki KLR 650 screen(supposed to fit perfectly with three holes drilled in the headlight cowl)
2. Slightly taller touring version of the above.
3.BMW F650 dakar screen 2000-2003 (again people seem to say it fits the standard headlight cowl well)
4. MRA pre 2008 KLR 650 screen.
5. Bajaworks DRZ 400/DR650 screen. (expensive and pricey postage.)
Has anyone fitted a screen to their DRZ 400 please? If so how would you rate the fit and wind protection. Also anyone fitted any other type of screen with good results please ?
Thanks in advance,
Steve.

I used the BMW 650 Dakar screen to good effect. The bike is gone now but I still have the screen if you want it. See attached of how it looked on the bike. The screen gave me great wind protection but I'm only 5'8" 170cm. That said others who rode it thought the same. Fixing was three 6mm hex head bots through the standard screen with fuel pipe used as spacers to give it some flex on the mounting and as it's on the standard screen it is quite durable.

Text or PM me if you want it.

It arrived really quickly and fitted very well, all i had to do was drill three 6mm holes in the headlight surround and fit it using the screws and alloy spacers that were sent with it. I neatened it up by heating the lower "wings" with a hot air gun and clamping until cool just so they follow the exact profile of the original cowl. I was going to get a Kawasaki klr 650 screen or KTM 640 screen but i am really glad i went with this option.
