Cheap security
Cheap security
A cheap deterrent I use is a rape alarm. Key fob size but make sure you get one with a separate activation pin and key chain. 140db ! Many uses for example camp site security - tied between tent and bike, puts bears off too allegedly, under your seat/in pannier and cord to wheel, etc, etc. Also handy if you hear banjos in the woods  About £8 with spare batteries.

I've used similar with a piece of string or carefully concealed on the bike such that if they move the steering it pulls the pin--just a couple of seconds only required to get you up and at them with a big stick!

Yes just thinking about it attaching fishing line with a key ring loop or clip would be near undetectable in dim light
