Light bulbs throw more heat than light ... the non EU approved ones anyway

Run a bank of 3 off a car battery perhaps with a timer if necessary

They could operate under a cover or in a confined area to heat a smaller space instead of the whole garage

A friend does something similar during the coldest parts of the year

Something to insulate the walls and floors are good ideas (previously mentioned)

I have a big , so called breathable, car cover over it but there was still some condensation on it last time I went down. Corrosion on rear disc especially.
Going to give it a good clean tomorrow the ACF50 it. I have some dehumidifier bags so I'll put them on the heads.
The ground anchor is close to the wall, due to me keeping a car in there too last winter so I need a new ground anchor to move the bike to the middle of the garage away from the walls & door.

I've no solution to your problem but I can confirm that breathable covers DON'T keep the moisture off your bike, they help but don't stop it.
I use mine to cover my lathe most of the time and it still goes rusty despite being covered in oil.
Light bulb on a battery is probably your best bet, just creates a bit of heat and air flow.
A dehumidifier will do bugger all in an old garage as you'll just be drying the world, plus their noisy and will attract attention.

Cheers all, I'll try the light bulb trick although I can imagine a 40W bulb draining a car battery in no time.

12AH battery with a 40W bulb -
40/12 = 3.3 amps
12/3 = 4 hours.

Can't you get a big bucket of those silica crystal moisture traps and leave it under the cover?

2 old car batteries, one at home being charged and one in the garage powering a bulb, even a small car battery is 40Ah+. Still not going to last days though.

If,s it,s damp then you need more ventilation. With adequate air-flow and no water ingress it will still be cold but dry.
