Is it safe to put all that weight on the tail like that? I just got a 690 and am installing the rally raid pannier racks and rear rack and they tell me I shouldn't put more than 5 kilos on the rear rack as the mounting bolts are part of the petrol tank and not that strong.

safe as houses you keep all the weight down low, all thats in the top is a tent and sleeping bag and clothes, etc,
all the heavier gear is at the bottom of the side bags, handles like a dream cant even hardly tell its on, but all my gear is ultra light the heaviest thing in there is a 3 kilo tent in the middle top pack

full set up is rock solid, its not going nowhere, my old set up was about 30 kilos in a rucksack strapped straight onto the grab rails did a 1000 miles with that, half on road half off road, those grab rails are pretty strong in my opinion

Is that the stock seat? The Seat Concepts Seat is a major improvement. Mike54 occasionally brings some in from the USA.
The set up looks great, ideal for a Balkan rough-roads trip!
