Anyone own a BMW Navigator IV (Is the battery replaceable?)

Post by Philiptigerrice »

As above really - I'm looking at a used one, that may need a replacement battery.

Are they internalised and therefore can't be swapped out - or can they be replaced?

If anyone does have one, a photo of the battery with size and type would be much appreciated - or even better a link to a replacement for costing!

Many thanks (thumbs)

Yes and bought two batteries from Amazon, surprisingly it fixed loads of problems with it switching off when it was on the charging mount.

Hiya - I did replace the battery, but it was aaaages ago - I think it was a Zumo 660 battery - but I forget now.
Anyways - it was fine, but I fancied an upgrade, and flogged it and a few other bits in the garage and upgraded to a shiney new (ish) Nav V.
Olly - if you have a Nav IV kicking about - don't bin it - there's a healthy used market for them!

it takes forever to update if you miss a junction, also the distance count down is dreadful, 400 meters to a turn point counts down even if yer stopped

I have the IV and V and there are volumes of difference in the two models but the IV is still a very usuable tool.I paid £200 on one of the forums for the IV recently to install on the new GS and find its a good if basic tool but I think the battery is on the way out.Its dated 2010 so has lasted well but I think one of the cells is failing hence my query.
