Where do you mount your "Action Cam" ?
Top Left/Right side of helmet? On the bike?
And how do you mount it?
My Drift finally arrived and there's not really a perfect place to mount it on my Tour X 4
Favourite so far is on top of the peak. I'm thinking of getting a 1/4" to GoPro adaptor to utilise the more prevalent GoPro mounts.

Re: Where do you mount your "Action Cam"
A mate of mine mounted his in behind the screen on his R1 seemed pretty good. Although a guy I know with a cbf1000 stuck his on the front of the fairing and it was surprisingly solid with the sucker mount. I don't have one

Re: Where do you mount your "Action Cam"
I prefer the side of my helmet. I also use a bike mount. On green lanes the mount is with a Ram mount. On the road bike this gave me way too much rolling shutter effect (when stuff looks like it's made from jelly). I made a pretty robust mount from aluminium which is significantly better. On the road bike it's much more dynamic to film with the bike mount.
Just along for the ride.

Left side of my Caberg Tourmax. The remote is more of an issue.

On the left side of helmet. If its on the right your left arms crossing over in front of your head and potentially across the lens.

Experiment.
The basic rule seems to be:
On road, mount it on the bike
Off road, mount it on your helmet
The reason? On road, mounting it on the bike avoids the off putting effect of the horizon always being level. It also avoids the sickening sudden switches left, right, left at junctions when the rider scans his head around.
Off road, the rider's body acts as a suspension or damper, making the action smoother.
The second basic rule seems to be: Get used to doing lots of editing or your audience will start to throw their popcorn and yawn!

Given most of the videos I see from these things though, I know where I'd like to place most other peoples action cams, and that's even more
They seem to be a bolt on brain transplant for many riders.
