Well after getting a set of combat boots that have thinsulator in them, my feet are still getting cold on my morning commute.
So some recommendations on what the best socks are to wear.
At the moment 1 pair of normal day to day socks and then a set of standard ski socks over the top.
Are the heat holders thermal socks any better than my combination. Failing that it would be a set of heated socks then, problem with that is klan do a set at £90!!!!! or i can get a set that takes a d type battery but they will only last for 5 hours use.
As i commute round trip 2 hours a day they will be dead after two days.
Help

Re: My feet are getting too cold.
I use two layers inside my TCX goretex boots.
A normal set of socks that i wear at work and then a set of seal skin knee lenght army socks.
The seal skins are goretex as well and really keep the heat in. The key is to keep an air gap.
I am a size 9 but my bike boots are a size 10 so i can wear big socks and still have an air gap. My feet never get cold now.

Re: My feet are getting too cold.
You really need either gortex or winbloc as its the cold air. And some warm socks underthem..
Gore windbloc stuff is very good as lots of cyclists use them., comfy too

Re: My feet are getting too cold.
you dont want anything to thick..the secret is insulation and layers and breath ability as damp feet due to sweating will be colder than dry feet..different fabric insulates differently..polartec is good stuff..anything the sub zero mountain guys use. (thumbs)
For sub zero long rides around 300mls+ I use down boot linners..

in old style "Derrie boots"..very warm but not cheap..carry a dry pair of socks to change into when you arrive at destination..if work leave then somewhere dry and warm.
