Thanks Russ and hello , I still have the other bikes just added this one to the fleet , nice and smooth to ride on my own or two up , it's probably going to be fitted with a stabiliser wheel soon ,like this one but the chair on the other side

That's great , can you tell us a bit more about it? I have a bit of a soft spot for the XRV.... here's one of mine, complete with Ural chair which I added a few years ago. May see you on XRV.org which is probably the best place for XRV related stuff.

Re: Africa twin
Yes, very much so, it's a keeper.... I've had the bike from new and put the chair on it 5 yrs ago for a bit of travelling around S America and then Europe (before Covid pretty much put a stop to all of that!)

Re: Africa twin
I didn't fit it myself as it needed a steel sub-frame to be fabricated and fitted between the bike and the Ural fittings, due to the mostly square section frame. Unlike say an RE or Bonneville, the necessary 4 connecting struts couldn't be simply clamped to conventional round-section frame tubing. I went to Watsonian to discuss the options etc. and to take a look at various outfits they had in their shop/workshop. They were really helpful and advised against leading link forks on a relatively lightweight (!) bike like the AT, all they recommended was the fatter 19" front wheel.
