Re: AJP PR7 Owners?
Well....I was unable to stay away from Thor Motorcycles and had a look at the PR7s yesterday.
Fantastic bikes, but....
1) Like the shite-heap Husky TE610E I was once stupid enough to buy, they seem very reluctant to start. The guy couldn't get the 'kitted' one to fire at all, and the standard was took two or three goes. The sound of them 'turning not burning' was very familiar. He said it was because they were brand-new...do they get better? Surely with fuel injection they should just spin over twice, then fire?
2) The forks are really stiff...is this just 'new component' stiction?
What is the experience of owners?

Re: AJP PR7 Owners?
I've just returned from a weekend meet-up and trail ride with 5 other AJP PR7 owners. Of the 6 bikes, only one had a starting issue.
The owner of MHB Motorcycles turned up with a brand new 2022 PR7 that had no issues.
Many owners talk about the reluctance to start - some seem to suffer while others don't. From cold, I turn the key to the on position, wait for about 10 seconds and press the start button: it starts within two or three spins of the motor and never fails. If the engine is warm, just turn the key, press the button and go.
The front suspension is fully adjustable.
I'm a complete novice when it comes to trail riding but even I was able to shine on the PR7 this weekend. I rode 270 miles from Suffolk to Cumbria on Friday, did 100 miles of trails and roads throughout Saturday and then, rode back down to Suffolk today. I had one stupid off before lunch on Saturday, managed to regain my confidence and, by the end of the day, was having a whale of a time riding trails that were way beyond my previous experience. Hats off to Kelvyn for organising such a great weekend.

Re: AJP PR7 Owners?
Is there a hard luggage with detachable box system for these yet...Givi or similar?

Re: AJP PR7 Owners?
Anybody out there know why there is a starting issue? perhaps initially people had little experience of the lithium battery idiosyncrasies but I would imagine that time has passed, I know fuel mapping has had a fair bit of evolution, but getting the bike to start should not be that much of a challenge. The bike is aimed at the harder end of the adventure bike market may account for a heavier fork action, and again for the same reason I should imagine hard luggage would not be a commonly requested accessory. On paper this bike is close to a spec many sort after me included, but difficult to commit to for a few reasons, I am not affraid of a small manufacturer (might even be attractive) its just practicalities for myself. Love to see them bring some more ADV bikes to market and wish them all success when they do.
