It's not too big and heavy, it's just too big and heavy for us mortals.

it helps if ya feet can touch the ground too.
,,fantastic video ..
.. but why not build models that are 3/4 the monster sizes?? .. for some of us sub-heroes ..
even if that means 3/4 sized engines

Re: The Yamaha Tenere thread
Just a heads up for Tenere 700 owners
I had my fuel tank off at the weekend to tinker with some auxiliary lights wiring and there was a number of rust patches around the joints for the front tank mountings and also along the side seams. I've treated and repainted mine now - you may want to check yours for yourself, then it's up to you if you want to raise it with Yamaha or just deal with it.
69 plate - 11,000 miles

Re: The Yamaha Tenere thread
I see the T7 'World Raid' is now in Yamaha's line-up and will be available in May at £11,600. Differences to the standard model are bigger (23l) fuel tank, 3-mode ABS (full, front on, off), uprated forks & shock and TFT screen - I think that's about it but could be wrong.

Re: The Yamaha Tenere thread
Any advise on what its like as a Peak District lane touring machine?
Bit of back ground, I have a Honda 300L, nice bike but runs of of steam and the engine can feel a bit rough , I guess I do 95% roads and tend to stick to the TET route round Buxton, Hope Valley and Houndskirk Moor, that's as technical as I get, sight seeing on the lanes nothing to technical.
So would a T7 give me a bike to ride all day to cover more road work with a bit off road?
I don't want to get into a big adventure bike and want something with more trial bike looks, its what I always rode growing up and don't fancy something that looks like a road bike.
Options?

Re: The Yamaha Tenere thread
I would say you will have no trouble with the engine running out of steam as its a belter, had it in my XSR and it was more than enough on the road, though that was without a pillion or camping gear. Good luck with your choice, its half of the fun researching and trying new bikes, I have just pulled the pin on a CB500X which might be a contender for you, but I haven't ridden it yet so cannot recommend it.
