How about an '08 onwards XT660Z...?
That will cope very well with road work and in some comfort, plus it has the look you're after and it's fine for gentle trail work. Although it is a bit heavy and it's physically bigger than some of those on your list. There are loads for sale. Some never see the dirt, some go half-way round the world.

Re: Choosing a bike.......?
A fantastic bike - BMW really dropped a clanger when they discontinued this bike, it has a cult following now with few about. Lowish seat height, well proven engine and very light weight. Only thing to note is the small tank size if commuting or travelling.
If this is okay for you and you find one be quick as it won’t hang around.
Good luck with your search

I have had a little read up on the g650 and the small tank stands out as an issue not that it would effect me to much. But you can get a nice little extra tank that fits in to a rear rack it looks smart but not cheap.
Re: Choosing a bike.......?
I have the X country, it a great bike. much lighter than anything the same size.seat is comfortable. Engine is slightly different to all the other BMW 650 singles more power and revs up very quickly. Cornering is fantastic not much can live with it on twisty b roads. Yes the tank is only 9 litres but mine averages around 75 mpg so around 140 to a tank.
