In any event, on tank bags the GL zip on which comes with a permanent harness has a cut out to go around a filler cap. I've never found it a problem on other bikes with a raised cap.

If that's true, that's quite extraordinary, three odd years they fannied about with it, they bring it out and get the cap so wrong they're going to update it within a year, WTF.johnnyboxer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 6:25 amNext year's bikes will come with a revised one, a dealer told meRandG wrote:It is such a strange choice of cap, not read a positive comment about it.

Actually the petrol cap doesn't bother me - I quite like itRandG wrote:If that's true, that's quite extraordinary, three odd years they fannied about with it, they bring it out and get the cap so wrong they're going to update it within a year, WTF.johnnyboxer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 6:25 amNext year's bikes will come with a revised one, a dealer told meRandG wrote:It is such a strange choice of cap, not read a positive comment about it.
I hate tankbags with a passion though

Re: Yamaha Tenere 700 - Deliveries?
So last week I was told my bike was on it's way from France by my dealer. I phoned yesterday and it still hasn't arrived, what did arrive at the dealer yesterday was their demonstrator
They think this is because the bikes are being done in colour batches, they had no choice in the colour they got (Power Black) whereas I have ordered mine in Ceramic Ice, I'm very disappointed.

Re: Yamaha Tenere 700 - Deliveries?
the rally bashplate fitted to Ferdie's--I'm "borrowing" his stock bashplate. Also the R and G plastic waterpump/clutch cover for the "road" 700 fits the T7--I'm not saying its good or bad--just an option--they also do an Alt cover--again carry over from the road twin. There are also lots of bent aluminium and bent plastic bashplates appearing--but to be Honest the Yam rally version is a brick thingy and has a lot of engineering for the money. IMO it would be far better painted black and therefore not so clunky looking--but at 4kg and heavy aluminium plate its not easy to make look neat. I'm of course working on a carbon/kevlar version but thats a way off yet as I've just started the development process. Yamaha have been very clever with those extra downtubes--and there are no exposed bolts underneath---unlike the 790 KTM IT IS NOT bolted to the engine casings. On the Rally version they have NO holes in the base--I agree with that-and they have even added a kick down to protect the rear linkage. The stock bashplate is ok but perhaps not up to a severe meeting with a rock---but even if this bends you are very unlikely to damage the engine casings IMO.
