I have orange blood but I'm not at all keen on any of the recent offerings from KTM so I have ordered a T700.

Perhaps I'm thinking of a different MCN, Motorcycle Consumer News doesn't have advertisements.Crossrutted wrote:MCN's opinion is often slanted towards who spends most £££s advertising.
The Yam has taken years to bring to market and whilst cheap repeats all the previous mistakes - overweight and under powered.
Will be ok if you want an off road styled commuter but as a trail/adventure bike - no.
The KTM has suspect styling, odd ergos but real off road performance, however the cost?
Neither for me.

No reason to Bob. Reviews are easy to buy if you are Yamaha. (or BMW , KTM etc.)boboneleg wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 8:12 pmSo after countless reviews and owner opinions are you eating your words yet Rob regarding the T700Crossrutted wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2019 3:29 pm

For example, look at the rave reviews of the 790, then look closely at owner/rider experiences.
When I've ridden your T7 off road - who knows...……but even if it should go well, they will still be fugly.

just dont go out with anybody with a 790r then because there is a big difference in performance like 23hp is it enough power yes but the 790r is a flyer i have dragged two of mates one on a 1290r and the other on a 1190s and upto 90mph there was around a bike lenth in it, the 790 motor is stonkingily fastRandG wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 8:08 amCrossrutted wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2019 3:29 pm

If you think it's under powered then you're looking at the wrong bike. I've went from 125bhp to 94bhp and if I then get a ten 700 it'll be down to 72bhp and at no time has the power been an issue.
actually a friend of mine has a T7 hes picking it up end of month, so be interesting how it compares with my 790r

i like they yam, two things that stood out for me is it looks top heavy, i guess thats why it has a small tank, the other is fuel range, although not bad but after 150 miles your looking for a petrol station, ok in the uk but if your touring a pain, the other is the suspension linkage is exposed, again if your doing road miles no problem but you could smash it on a rock if not careful, i would have one though due to it being cheaper, although now is it not £9.150?

Yeah I wondered about this too, as if there's such a difference why not put a 790r on demo? ive ridden the standard one and was ok but if I buy, it would be the R! just don't know if I want to sell the Africa Twin for one though.....
