Re: GasGas Ranger
I still have my trusty TTR250 as a back up and would use the TTR250 for longer trips with more road work involved and the need to take clothing and spares etc. for 3 / 4 days. It's horses for courses really, the Ranger is ideal to transport to the trails and not waste the engine hours on the road.
I now regret not having transport sooner.......I have ridden the Beta XTrainer 160 miles on back roads and trails on day 1 just to get to the riding area, then done day 2 / 3 on the trails then on day 4 reversed day 1 to get back home.
The XTrainer was my first dabble into 2 stroke trail bikes and as I was not thrashing the bike and doing oil and filter changes regularly, continued to use the bike until I had starting problems. On taking it to the dealer to sort out, he rang me up after stripping the top end and said "have you any idea how many hours you have done on this bike" I did not have a clue, he said "it's got over 300hours you should be on your 3rd or 4th piston by now, that's why the starting is bad. Negligent on my part I admit, but it just shows what some engines will do
