Ive got to agree with JB the price is way to high. One dealer is now selling them for £8999 so its starting to happen.johnnyboxer wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 1:49 pmIt's a crazier pricefozzy17 wrote:
i agree put me off buying one 9500k? did ktm just think of a price and thought that will do, ended up with a 790 more money but hey hoo
speaking to a friend at a local dealer saying they have sold one 690 smc and no 690 enduro, so the dealer is going to be offering a free akro with the bikes to try and shift them on, i expect a price drop or some kind of offer soon
In 2016 they were £7500 on the outgoing model , so the 19 model is a full £2000 dearer and another £1000 more than the 701
I can't see £9500 for a new 690 it's madness - they will drop
You can buy a new 19 350 exc f for £6800 now and originally they were knocking on for £9000 a few months ago

Re: 2019 KTM 690
Obviously totally different, in fact so different I don't like it.
What I don't like:
-Riding position is too cramped (I am 181cm) my (dodgy) knees are at a very acute angle and the pegs
feel best suited to resting my heels on. Also felt very low to the ground which was a bit weird, almost go kart like.
-Screen is awful and sends all the 'dirty air' straight to my helmet causing it to vibrate, very uncomfortable.
-Quickshift, only done about 20 km but can't get used to it, feels very cluncky and preferred shifting with clutch.
-Weight is very noticeable, something I didn't want on my new bike.
What was nice:
- Engine very smooth
- The TFT display was very good, and I do miss a rev counter.
So i am glad I bought the 690 Enduro, even though it was untried, I do really like it.

Re: 2019 KTM 690
Fitted a new end can recently. https://dominator.pl/en_GB/p/690-ENDURO ... -2020/1960
And a Vanasche racing rear fuel filler. The noise from the bike is more thumper than sewing machine, so happy there.
also yesterday just finished the first full tank of fuel after fitting. Instead of the usual around 250km before the fuel
light came on, the trip was on 272km and the light was still not on. Filled just over 10l.
Still happy with the bike. Got luggage racks to go on, but going offshore tomorrow for 2 weeks, so will have to wait a while
for those to get fitted.

Re: 2019 KTM 690
Hi all,
I have a new 2020 KTM 690 enduro R being delivered this week. Like everyone going on this journey, I am trying to work out the best upgrades and mods, and also the best suppliers (UK based ideally, so not getting stung with import duties etc.).
So, initial priorities are:
1. cheap replacement plastics for: sides (front and rear), headlight surround, forks.
2. effective screen (seen one from puig and KTM themselves) - any recommendations or avoids!
3. decent rear rack (seen tusk and perun) - any others / recommendations?
With the plastics, I cant seem to find cheap 2019/20 plastics anywhere! Any links appreciated.
Also with the rear racks - I can find loads of links to buy, but all seem to be USA based, or outside the EU. So the delivery and import duty is more than the actual cost of the product! Any decent recommendations which can be sourced from the UK or EU?
Thanks in advance,
Roy

Re: 2019 KTM 690
Thats for the reply! You bike looks ace!
Couple of quick follow ups... Perun seem to do a kit to affix their rear plate to the Outback Motortek panniers. Did you use that? Or did you just source the parts locally to fix them together?
Also, the Outback Motortek panniers. Did you go for the standard ones, or the X-Frame?
I am also waiting for their (Outback Motortek) crash bars to come back into stock. I notice you have not bothered with crash bars (i suspect mine will spend a fair amount of time horizontal. lol). Did you feel they were not needed? Or was it a cost / weight benefit thing?
Cheers,
Roy
