I spoke to BSD in Peterborough , they specialise in remapping motorcycles , but the CRFL has an ECU that cannot be altered.

I feel for your woe but always a way to trick the ecu... Normal way is oxygen sensor bypass then trick the ecu to thinkingair temp is cold so riches up fueling...

Lots of xt660 models have been cured this way.... Itz all down to emmision restrictions..

The full power kit came from Australia and consists of an ECU and a unrestricted air intake for the Throttle body costing £211 incl shipping and customs, these are the parts that came off you can see the air intake is restricted by 80 per cent , Im not too worried about the extra power its the clean fueling Im after will try out tomorrow.

Wow, now that's a restriction! Could have had a C90 carb on there and it would have been bigger :D

Price isn't bad if it's the ECU and the rubber, I was asked for nearly £200 20+ years ago at a Honda dealer for an ignition unit.

So first ride today with the full power kit fitted, engine pulls much more strongly from the off 12mph on the top speed able to lift the front wheel much more easily , deep sand much easier , as far as the low speed fueling 40 per cent better the engine revs still have a bit of a mind of their own when on steady or negative throttle , still stalls a little bit too easily but overall pleased especially with the bargain price of the ECU and throttle body rubber £211 incl postage and tax from Australia , as satisfied as I was with the power as was its nice to have an excess of power.

I tried so hard to get on with the CRF but had to conclude the bike is just not fit for purpose when it comes to technical trail riding , so its replaced with a 501.

Nice choice

Pity the 450L was so bad

thats a shame ... i were thinking about the one i tried and the fueling was pretty much spot on ..i couldnt provoke it to stall at all .....we met up with three crf riders at grizedale a while back random and had a chat

the guy on the 450 had had it replaced by honda as it was in his words unridable ... he has the full braaap kit on the new one now but is a grand lighter ...the guy with the glasses on the rally ..sold one bought the 450 and thenn went back to a rally ...put 305 kit on that ...but is now looking for a 286 kit as he cant fuel it proper ..but didnt get on with the 450 either

interesting to chat to others ... but it looks like your not the only one to suffer with the fueling thing for sure ....
new bike looks awsome ...keep well

I blew my brains out when it came to losing money , the main problem with the bike is difficult to explain but when riding a difficult surface like baby head boulders , and riding up steps I found I couldn't "lean on the power" and make the front light when needed , just pulling away needed lots of revs and clutch slipping , although over the 2,500 miles I rode the bike the stalling issue improved it was still an issue probably it was me just getting used to it that reduced the problem , I think the issue was down to Honda making the bike Euro 4 , the motor industry learned over the last 15 years or so its not possible to make an old engine compliant by playing with the fuel management the whole engine needs to be re-designing Honda failed to do this , very disappointing from a premium manufacturer charging a premium price.
