watch the bottom of the pannier and the exhaust outlet when loaded--I stuck some woven asbestos type cladding to the base of my Lomo bag as it could get quite warm--especially on a motorway blast.

I ran the bike up to temp and left it running at standstill to check and they were only slightly like warm. The exhaust deflector works well at redirecting the boot gases. Thanks for pointing it out though.
