I've seen the future and it could be printed

I saw this on the Beeb yesterday

It's an interesting idea - I reckon those printed wheels could be like a wheel / mousse combination and have a knobbly wrapped around the outside for off tarmac fun.

Ugh

But If it was used just as the wheel with a conventional gas filled tyre wrapped round it that might work, I believe the US Army has experimented with wheels where the vertical complance is provided by the wheel stucture rather than the suspension, Not sure how that worked out

They also have a wheel system that can change from wheel to track within seconds. Looks really freaky...
