I had the 250 and found it was very revvy and the engine was working hard for what I wanted it for. I now have a 440 and the torque is so much better so when I mess up it simply plugs away and keeps going. Funnily enough I find the 440 much more usable as its not so twitchy on the throttle. The 400 exc is plenty and the RFS engine is more robust isnt it plus easier to fix. Just my opinion but I would go for the 400

Difficult.

The usual range of appalling photos you now expect from leboncoin sellers. You'd might as well photograph your own foreskin for all those pics help you decide.

The 450 seller has at least made an effort to list what the bike has and what he's done.

Personally I think I'd wait a bit longer and see what comes up, Phil, even though the cash will of course be burning its way down your crutch...

@ Mike , i agree theres 2 exc 400 at home already along with a 520 and a husky 300 , just had an itch for a 2T and give Jax Shackers a better choice.

@ Dave , i know what meen theres lots of shit spouted on all sales site but they are more of an idea , no rush yet.

@ Alan very nice just 2.5k more than i want to spend.

Stick with the four strokes mate if you are hiring out as that 250 will climb the nearest tree in unexperienced hands. After 09 they were more manageable and easier to soften even tourquey. Avoid the older 250 four strokes too unless you want a tame one for novices. Something to be said for having the same bikes too for spares, etc.
